Penny Rae joined Carl Cordonnier for Daily Life in 2001 as a freelance writer and producer. She previously worked as the Artistic Director of organisations such as the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow, Scotland, the Scottish Arts Council and the Triskel Arts Centre in Cork, Ireland.

She developed an arts programme for the British Council European Office in Brussels and initiated a European arts and social policy policy from this programme, which included 3 year projects such as ‘New Young Europeans,’ ‘Words without walls’ and ‘Living Europe.’

With DailyLife she has created texts for exhibitions, publications and installations through interviews with participants and contributors. These include publications for organisations such as the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, exhibitions for the region of Nord Pas de Calais in France and the city of Lille and projects for Creative Partnerships UK in schools across the North East of England.

She works regularly for Glasgow based 'Art in Hospital' on evaluation publications, creating of texts for their exhibitions and publications and advising on strategic development.

She is currently developing a literacy project with gifted and talented pupils at Crook Primary School in County Durham UK
